NWA Powerrr Results (7/5/22): Trevor Murdoch And More Compete

The National Wrestling Alliance delivered an action-packed episode of NWA Powerr on July 5.

NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Trevor Murdoch faced Thrillbilly Silas in a non-title match. Plus, AJ Cazana, Odinson, and Judais competed in a #1 Contender’s Match for the NWA TV Championship.

The results are as follows:

  • NWA TV Title #1 Contender’s Triple Threat Match: Odinson defeated Judais and AJ Cazana
  • NWA Junior Heavyweight Champion Homicide comes to the podium and gives a shoutout to the Morton family. He calls Ricky Morton the greatest of all time and says Kerry is a future legend, but he doesn’t have the “it” factor. He says he’ll give Kerry a title shot at NWA 74. He brings up his upcoming defense against VSK and states that he’ll defend the championship against anybody.
  • Backstage, Aron Stevens and May Valentine do an interview and talk about their love for each other. Valentine says their plane tickets to Brazil got cancelled. Stevens notes that they’ve been asked a lot of questions, and he makes it clear that he wants to protect Valentine. He says he bumped into Rodney Mack, and they have known each other for a long time. Stevens says he’s still around the NWA, but they’ll go to Brazil eventually. He states that he has retired from the ring, but you can still see him every week.
  • In an interview, Chelsea Green, VSK, and Mike Knox do an interview. Green says the Cardonas have put NWA on the map, and she reminds everyone that Billy Corgan promised that each member of the family would get a title shot. VSK says gold looks good on the family, and he intends to win some. Mike Knox tells Billy Corgan to let him know when he’ll get a shot.
  • Non-Title Match: Trevor Murdoch defeated Thrillbilly Silas (with Pollo Del Mar)
    • In a post-match interview, The Pope comes out to congratulate Murdoch on his title win. He says he knew that Murdoch could keep getting back up, no matter times he got knocked down. The Pope says he’s proud of Murdoch and extends a handshake, but Murdoch brushes him off and walks away.
    • In an interview, Allysin Kay says she and Marti Belle are upset they lost the tag titles, but The Hex isn’t going anywhere. She notes that she has unfinished business with Kamille. KiLynn King interrupts and points out that she also has a score to settle with Kamille. She challenges Kay to a #1 contender’s match, and Kay accepts.
  • Kerry Morton (with Ricky Morton) defeated Jay Bradley (with Wrecking Ball Legursky)
  • NWA President William Patrick Corgan closes the show with an announcement and says lineal succession of the titles is the most important thing to him. He emphasizes that it’s one of his top priority. He announces that there will be a tournament, titled Race to the Chase, where the winner will challenge Murdoch for the gold at NWA 74. Corgan says he has lifted the ban on Tim Storm challenging for the title, so he’ll compete in the tournament. He credits Murdoch for inspiring this idea.
