Tony Khan Confirms Santana Knee Injury, Says He Could Be Out For A While

Tony Khan has confirmed that Santana is on the shelf after suffering a knee injury during AEW Dynamite: Blood & Guts last week.

All Elite Wrestling President Tony Khan was a guest this morning on Busted Open Radio with Dave LeGreca, Tommy Dreamer, and Mickie James to discuss a wide variety of subjects. When Dreamer asked about the status of Santana following Blood & Guts, Khan confirmed the knee injury.

“Yeah, I haven’t talked much publicly about it. So he is injured,” Tony Khan confirmed. “And it’s unfortunate, and obviously it’s a very dangerous match, and going into it, we knew injuries are a possibility. And Santana is a great pro wrestler. He’s been part of a great tag team with Ortiz. We really value him, and I did speak to him after. I know he’s injured, and we’re gonna stand by Santana and support him through the injury and do what we can. I think it’s the right thing to do. And, of course, hopefully, it won’t be too long, but I think it could be a relatively long injury. So it could be a while that Santana’s out, but we’re here for him for whatever he needs and certainly, really appreciate everything he’s done for AEW and will do going forward, and it’s unfortunate that the Blood & Guts match does come with injuries, and it was a knee injury that he suffered and hopefully he’ll be back relatively soon.”
