Tony Khan Clarifies Keith Lee’s Status, Confirms He’ll Wrestle On AEW Dynamite

Despite what has been speculated, Keith Lee is healthy and will compete tonight on AEW Dynamite with Swerve Strickland in a Triple or Nothing match with Team Taz and The Young Bucks for the AEW World Tag Team Titles.

All Elite Wrestling President Tony Khan was a guest on Busted Open Radio today with Dave LeGreca, Tommy Dreamer, and Mickie James to discuss a wide variety of subjects. When Tommy Dreamer brought up the speculation that Keith Lee wouldn’t be cleared to compete tonight, Khan clarified that the tweet had nothing to do with his help but a personal situation with his family instead.

“No, no, no, that wasn’t uh — I don’t want to get into Keith’s personal business; Keith is here,” Tony Khan said. “He is wrestling tonight. He had a family situation I don’t want to — It’s not my place. But Keith is here and here to wrestle as I understand it, but I can’t really comment on what’s happening, but we’re going to support him through what is happening.”

The confusion stemmed from a tweet Keith Lee made about his brothers yesterday, which led to some unfortunate speculation regarding his health. But thanks to Tony Khan has been confirmed not to be the case. Tweeting out:

“Got some very much less than stellar news today…. No matter the results, tomorrow’s match belongs to my two brothers. It’s all I can do until I return. Love you boys,” Keith Lee tweeted on July 12.

This was a follow-up to a tweet from Lee last week where he asked for prayers for his two brothers. Tweeting out:

“Today… I request prayers for two of my brothers. Scary things are about and rough times have taken over. If you are struggling, I offer positive thoughts and this scream of frustration for you. None of us will tap out. Let us fight,” Keith Lee tweeted on July 9.
