John Cena Comparisons Bothered Max Caster At First, But Then He Realized It Was A Good Thing

Max Caster says it used to bother him that people thought he was copying the Doctor of Thuganomics, but he soon realized that it’s a good thing.

In an interview with AllHipHop, Max Caster addressed fans comparing him to John Cena due to their respective rap gimmicks, noting that it did bother him at first but he eventually embraced it.

“Yeah, the John Cena stuff, it bothered me at first. I’ll be honest. It’s tough to do something new in wrestling. Right? Everything’s been done. And even in movies, I just read something that in movies and TV, there’s only 36 possible plots in all of movies and all of media, 36 total. So, there’s more than 36 movies. There’s way more than 36 wrestlers.

“There is going to be another rapper eventually. So it bothered me at first, but then I realized, well, you’re comparing me to arguably the greatest wrestler of all time. Definitely the biggest drawing wrestler of the modern era, or at least the era we’re in now. So it’s not a bad thing. And to have John reach out to me and say the things he said publicly about me, I mean, that meant a lot. I saw those comments right before I wrestled see CM Punk. And I had a little moment with myself and I’m just like, “Damn, this is a crazy life.” You know? And for all the people who are hating or they didn’t believe at first, I guarantee you they’re Acclaimed fans now.”

In the past, Caster said that Cena has been a huge influence on him and called Cena one of his favorite wrestlers. Caster said that Cena got him into wrestling in the first place, adding that he hopes to draw people in the same way that Cena did for him as a fan.

“The guy, I will say in 2004 that got me back into watching wrestling. So, I take that energy and propel it forward and say, maybe there’s people now in 2022, even last year who fell out of wrestling that they hear there’s this rapping guy on wrestling now and he does these disses and they are hilarious and you watch it and you say, ‘Oh, this is my guy.’ You listen to the mixtapes, songs or diss tracks that I put out, the music videos, you say, ‘Wow, this guy actually has some skill.’”
