The National Wrestling Alliance delivered an eventful show with the August 9 episode of NWA Powerrr.
In the main event, NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Trevor Murdoch faced Pope in a non-title match.
The results are as follows:
- Tables Match: Mike Knox defeated De’Vin Graves
- At the podium, Jordan Clearwater brags about his abs and BLK Jeez says Cyon is training for his title match at NWA 74. He credits Jax Dane, saying he wouldn’t be in the NWA if he wasn’t great, but Cyon will win at NWA 74.
- Pope discusses his match with Trevor Murdoch tonight. When asked whether he has a shot, Pope brings up how he has faced legends throughout his career. He says they’ve been brothers, but they have hit some rough spots. Pope vows to be the most charismatic and “Pope-tacular.”
- Ricky Morton defeated Wrecking Ball Legursky
- Jordan Clearwater (with BLK Jeez) defeated Joe Alonzo
- In an interview, Angelina Love discusses her goals in the NWA, saying she’s happy to be reunited with Velvet Sky. She says she is championship material, and she references Sky’s Championship Series title shot. She teases that she could get the opportunity and says she’s going to talk to sky about it
- At the podium, Pope has some final words for Murdoch ahead of their main event match. Again, he says the road gets a little bumpy, but he’s going to extend his hand to the champion tonight.
- Non-Title: Trevor Murdoch vs. Da Pope ends in a double countout; Murdoch went for a piledriver on the outside after Pope got practically knocked out by going face-first into the ring post, and he changed his mind. He stood over Pope as the referee reached the count of 20.
