WWE NXT Heatwave Results (8/16/22): Breakker vs McDonaugh, More!

NXT Women’s Championship Match: Mandy Rose (c) w/Toxic Attraction vs. Zoey Stark

Stark almost hits her finish but Rose blocks it. Stark counters Rose into multiple pinning combinations. Rose ends up outside the ring. Rose tosses Stark over the announce desk. As Stark writhes in pain, Rose slams her surgically repaired knee into the desk. After the break, Rose is working over Stark’s leg. Jayne and Dolan get up on the apron but Nikkita Lyons hits the ring and forces them both backstage. Stark fires up and gets a few near falls. Rose kicks Stark in the knee.

Rose tries a Regal-Plex but she dumps Stark on her head. Stark kicks out. Stark hits her finish out of nowhere but she collapses to the mat. As Stark crawls to make the cover, Rose rolls out of the ring. Rose trips Stark and her leg gets tied up in the ropes. Rose stomps Stark’s knee. Running knee attempt by Rose. Stark turns it into a pin. Rose manages to hit a running knee. Stark kicks out. Rose rips off Stark’s knee brace and puts it on. Rose destroys Stark with a running knee using the brace. Stark is out. Rose pins Stark.

Winner and STILL NXT Women’s Champion, Mandy Rose!

NXT Championship Match: Bron Breakker (c) vs. JD McDonagh

McDonagh immediatly goes after Breakker’s previously injured shoulder. Breakker swats McDonagh away. Breakker slaps McDonagh in the face. McDonagh smiles. Breakker grabsa wristlock and no matter what McDonagh does Breakker wont release it. McDonagh decks Breakkeer. McDonagh tries a dropdown but Breakker gator rolls McDonagh into a suplex. McDonagh ends up outside the ring. Breakker works over McDonagh shouler. Standing moonsault by Breakker. McDonagh kicks out.

After the break, McDonagh changes his focus to Breakker’s neck. McDonagh tries a leapfrog but gets caught in the Steiner slam. Breakker is sent into the ring post, shoulder first. McDonagh puts Breakker in a submission. Breakker gets to the ropes. McDonagh goes up top. Breakker cuts him off and hits an avalanche ranna for a near fall. McDonagh hits a Spanish fly off the top, followed by a sheer drop brainbuster. Breakker kicks out. McDonagh misses a moonsault but he lands on his feet.

Breakker almost cuts McDonagh in half with a spear. McDonagh rolls out of the ring. McDonagh rolls back into the ring and eats another spear. Breakker stares as McDonagh gets to his feet and with blood dripping from his mouth. McDonagh tells Breakker to bring it. Breakker hits another spear. Breakker gorilla presses McDonagh into a front slam for the win.

Winner and STILL NXT Champion, Bron Breakker!

After the match, NXT UK Champion Tyler Bate walks down to the ring. Bate holds up the NXT UK Championship. Breakker holds up his title as the show ends with a standoff.
