Report: Jon Moxley Was Scheduled To Take Time Off Following AEW All Out

It appears the backstage altercation between CM Punk and The Elite following All Out cost Jon Moxley some time off from All Elite Wrestling.

According to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp (via Fightful Select), Jon Moxley was set to take some time off following his match against CM Punk at AEW All Out and wasn’t scheduled for last night’s episode of AEW Dynamite in Buffalo. F4WOnline.com‘s Dave Meltzer also reported Moxley and Chris Jericho weren’t originally scheduled to appear on the show but they were added to the lineup in response to the fight between CM Punk and The Elite.

Due to the ongoing situation between The Elite and CM Punk, Moxley was called back into action to “help conduct a talent meeting, add star power to the show, and participate in the title tournament.” The time off is something that Moxley himself alluded to in his promo last night during the show, noting that his vacation had been cut short.

According to Sapp, Moxley was scheduled to have an extended break from television that would last a few weeks. AEW sources told Sapp that they initially hoped to have him back by the special Tuesday night Dynamite in his hometown of Cincinnati on October 18, but Moxley chose to remain on the road to help Tony Khan in his time of need.

Moxley is one of the participants in the Grand Slam Tournament Of Champions that was announced after the AEW World Championship was vacated on Wednesday. Moxley has a first-round bye and he will face off with the winner of the Sammy Guevara vs. Darby Allin match that airs on Friday’s episode of Rampage.
