Mick Foley: I Would Have Loved To Do Post-Show Press Conferences, They Give An ‘Added Touch’ To Wrestling

Though AEW’s latest post-show media scrum went sideways, WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley says he wished he had the opportunity to talk to the press after major matches.

AEW is known for its media scrums after its pay-per-views, where company president Tony Khan and several top stars answer questions from the media. After AEW All Out, CM Punk, who had just won the world title in the main event, took several heated shots at Hangman Page, Kenny Omega, and the young Bucks during his portion of the conference. These remarks reportedly led to a backstage “melee” between Punk and the latter trio, and everyone involved has since been suspended.

In an interview with Steve Fall of NBC Sports Boston, Foley was asked about how he would have felt about participating in post-show press conferences during his active career.

“I would have loved to have had the opportunity to address the media after the matches,” Foley said. “I think it’s something that has been missing. Of course the latest one in AEW turned out a little unusual in a way that might not be good for business. But I like the idea of Roman Reigns talking to the press after a big victory. I think it gives that added touch to what we do.”
