Sheamus: Working With Butch And Ridge Holland Has Reinvigorated Me

Sheamus says Ridge Holland and Butch have reinvigorated his passion.

In recent months, Sheamus has been part of the Brawling Brutes alongside Butch and Holland. The group continues to gain momentum; a WWE Extreme Rules, the trio defeated Imperium in a  Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook Match.

Speaking with David Shoemaker for The Ringer Wrestling Show, Sheamus discussed his pairing with Holland and Butch and stated that they have reinvigorated his passion for the business.

“The two boys came all the way from England, and I’m from Ireland, that left their family behind them, and come over here chasing a dream,” Sheamus said. “What you see tonight when we go out there, to get to that point takes years of sacrifice and years of hard work. On a personal note for me, I’ve been here 13-and-a-half years in the main roster, and these two boys, these two lads have completely reinvigorated me in this business and really brought my passion back to a level ten.

“I can’t tell you how special it is to be in there with them, like both of them are hungry, both of them are passionate, and we all push each other and we look out for each other. That’s a group, we’re a group. We’re the Brawling Brutes, that’s it. It’s Sheamus, Ridge and Butch. The three boys.”

“The Celtic Warrior” then compared the Brawling Brutes to Imperium and shared his belief as to why fans are connecting with his group. He noted that, with the Brawling Brutes, there is no ego. Instead, they all compete together and aim to give the crowd its money’s worth.

“You look out there with Imperium and there’s kind of like some sort of level of authority,” Sheamus said. “There’s no level of authority here. We’re three boys, three mates, who will bleed and die for each other out there. That’s what’s special, and that’s why the crowd I feel right now are really gravitating towards the three of us. There is no ego. We’re all there together, in there for the group, and we live and die by the group.

“When we go out there, we put our bodies on the line, we go through a war because we know that’s what we need to do. We want to give everyone out there their money’s worth, and anything less from us just doesn’t cut it.”

The former WWE Champion then emphasized that he’s proud to share the ring with Holland and Butch and made it clear that he’s enjoying his current run.

“I’m honored and I’m proud, I really am, to be in the ring with these two boys,” Sheamus said. “I tell you, there’s been times in my career, it doesn’t always go rosy. But being in there with these two boys, man, it’s really just reinvigorated my passion.”
