Report: WWE Has Interest In Former ROH World Champion Matt Taven

WWE is reportedly interested in a former Ring of Honor star.

On the October 10 edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that WWE is interested in Matt Taven, who finished up with IMPACT Wrestling over the weekend. It’s unclear whether the company would want to bring him directly to the main roster or have him join NXT.

After ROH went on hiatus following Final Battle 2021, Taven and his tag team partner, Mike Bennett, signed with IMPACT Wrestling. The duo, along with Maria Kanellis, PCO, and Vincent, formed the Honor No More stable and debuted at the Hard to Kill pay-per-view on January 8, 2022. The faction was featured on IMPACT programming for the next several months. Taven and Bennett won the IMPACT World Tag Team Championship in September, but their contracts, along with that of Kanellis, expired following the IMPACT tapings on October 8.

Taven is a former Grand Slam Champion with ROH star. He has held the ROH World Championship, and the World Television Championship. He is also a former ROH World Tag Team Champion (with Bennett) and a former ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champion. Taven and Bennett also captured the IWGP Tag Team Championship during their run with New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
