TNA Wrestling Expected To Sign Deal With Former WWE Developmental Company — Report

A working relationship is reportedly in the works between TNA Wrestling and WWE’s former developmental territory.

According to PWInsider, TNA and Ohio Valley Wrestling are working towards formalizing an agreement that would see OVW become a developmental system for TNA. The report further noted that the agreement is expected to be signed “very soon.”

The development comes after TNA President Carlos Silva was spotted at several OVW tapings. Silva was also expected to attend OVW’s 1,400th TV episode celebration but was reportedly not in attendance.

OVW previously served as WWE’s developmental territory from 1999 to 2008. During that time, it became renowned for producing world-class talent, including the legendary “OVW Four” — Brock Lesnar, John Cena, Randy Orton, and Dave Bautista.

OVW has been under the ownership of Al Snow since 2018.

The potential partnership comes at a time when TNA has been impacted by several high-profile departures. Former TNA Knockouts World Champion Tessa Blanchard recently exited the promotion, reportedly after TNA would not allow her to work for CMLL due to its partnership with AEW. TNA also parted ways with longtime backstage figure Tommy Dreamer and former world champion Sami Callihan.
