Karrion Kross On Being A Package Deal With Scarlett: Listen To Your Audience

Scarlett is part of the Karrion Kross package in WWE because Kross believes that’s what the fans want to see.

Karrion Kross recently sat down with Louis Dangoor of GiveMeSport to discuss a wide variety of subjects. When asked if he views himself and Scarlett as a package deal, Kross revealed that he and Scarlett were initially hired separately for WWE NXT.

“Yes and no. Because she was hired in WWE a couple months before I was initially in NXT, and we were both ready, able, and willing to work separately,” Karrion Kross revealed. “This was just an idea, a concept that I had pitched to them initially upon my arrival with the company the first time around. And we thought it would be a very unique idea and presentation because it wasn’t being done.

“And we’ve always been about trying to introduce new concepts and ideas for the program for you guys to diversify the program. If the program feels too much like match to match segment to segment, it can feel redundant, like any TV show. So that was what the original intention was for introducing the two characters together.

“To me, when you asked me how important is it to me personally not that important. To the both of us, it’s about delivering on what the fans want to see. We very much make our decisions based on what we feel like people want to see out of us as performers. And because the presentation was presented to people and it was received very well. We thought the right thing to do would be to follow up on that and provide continuity.

“So I wouldn’t say it would be a deal breaker, but I would have to be presented with an idea or concept that I was positive people wanted to see because we’ve been told for many, many, many months by thousands of people in person at meet and greets at restaurants at gyms in the airports everywhere we go people were like we really wanted to see you guys together. So my rule of thumb as a performer has always been to listen to your audience. They’re telling you what they want. So it was a no-brainer to give that to people. That’s what they wanted to see. So we were ready and willing to get back on the saddle and pay that off.”
