Bayley: I’ve Been Evolving, I Don’t Have To Be This Humble Kid Anymore

Bayley is at a good place professionally and personally.

During a recent interview with Riju Dasgupta for SportsKeeda, Bayley spoke about her on-air personas evolving on a parallel path to her real-life growth. Bayley says she’s grown more confident over the years and it’s reflected in her TV character.

“I think that everything I’ve been doing throughout my career has just aligned with who I am as a person. When you interviewed me [back then], I was very young in my career and still new to WWE. I was still trying to make it in my mind and once I got over this hump and woke up one day I realized I’m pretty awesome. I don’t have to be this humble kid anymore, I’ve been here long enough, I’ve proved myself. I’ve had memorable matches and that’s how my mind started thinking — where I’m at now, it just kept growing and growing. So I think that I’ve been evolving personally with my characters at the same time. I feel great, very comfortable with where I am at right now.”

Asked to describe her current character, Bayley simply said she’s “everything.”

Dasgupta also noted the similarities in Bayley’s character to Seth Rollins, as both have been more boisterous compared to before. Bayley spoke about the relationship they have and said the character work was a coincidence that resulted from a strong real-life bond.

“Because we’re friends behind the scene. We really get along, we clicked years ago through [liking] the same kind of music and we started working out together. We started sharing life stories together and kind of being there for each other through a lot of things and that obviously built to friendship, so our characters kind of came to the peak of insanity at the same time. So it all just worked out, he’s like my long-lost brother.”
