The SmackDown World Cup continued with two quarterfinal matches on the November 18 episode of WWE SmackDown.
First, Ricochet faced Mustafa Ali, who was dealing with a rib injury throughout the battle. In a close match between the two fan-favorite stars, the former WWE Intercontinental Champion emerged victorious. After the bout, the two men showed respect to each other with a fist bump. Ricochet will face a daunting task in the next round; he will face former WWE Universal Champion Braun Strowman, who beat Jinder Mahal on the November 11 episode to advance to the next round.

In the main event, Butch battled Sami Zayn in a chaotic bout, as their respective stables were at ringside for the duration of the contest. The two factions brawled, and amidst the fighting, Butch pinned “The Honorary Uso” to clinch the victory. As a result, he will face Santos Escobar, who defeated Shinsuke Nakamura in the quarterfinals, on the November 25 episode of WWE SmackDown.

The winner of the SmackDown World Cup will earn a shot at the WWE Intercontinental Championship, which is currently held by Gunther.
