AJ Styles Confirms Broken Ankle Injury, Will Not Require Surgery

The Phenomenal AJ Styles will miss some ring time due to an injury he suffered earlier this week at a WWE Live Event.

Thursday night at a WWE Live event in Hershey, Pennsylvania, multiple members of the WWE Universe posted videos online of AJ Styles potentially injuring himself in a six-man tag match between The O.C. and The Judgment Day. The referee put up the “X,” and Styles was checked out at ringside before being helped to the back by The Good Brothers. At the time, the extent of the injury was unknown.

AJ Styles took to social media this morning to confirm the injury and revealed he has a broken ankle. The good news is that it won’t require surgery. Tweeting out:

“Just want you guys to know that I’m ok. Broken ankle is what I’m dealing with. No surgery, this just takes some time to recover. This will be the longest I’ve ever been out of the ring. Thanks for the prayers and get well wishes,” AJ Styles said in a tweet.

According to Google, a broken ankle typically takes six to eight weeks to heal but could take longer, depending on the severity of the injury. While The Phenomenal One should be able to return at some point on the road to WrestleMania, it’s all but confirmed that he’ll miss the 2023 Royal Rumble due to this injury.

There have also been hints as of late that Styles might appear alongside Karl Anderson at Wrestle Kingdom 17, but that is likely off the table now as well.

On behalf of everyone here at WrestleZone, we wish AJ Styles a speedy recovery and hope to see him back in the ring soon.
