Rocky Romero says fans will have to watch NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 to get the answer as to whether Sasha Banks (Mercedes Varnado) will appear at the show.
As first reported by PWInsider, Banks is set to appear at the Wrestle Kingdom 17 event on January 4. Another report noted that Banks’ deal with NJPW includes a STARDOM show. Given these signs that Banks will kick off a new chapter of her career, many fans have been bussing about the January 4 show.
In an interview with Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Romero was asked about Banks potentially appearing at Wrestle Kingdom, and he kept his answer short and sweet.
“I can neither confirm nor deny at this moment,” Romero said. ” I can not. I think if you really wanna know, you need to watch Wrestle Kingdom on NJPWWorld.com, and you will get the answer.”
Banks hasn’t appeared on WWE programming since she and Naomi walked out of the May 16 episode of WWE RAW. WWE then suspended the duo indefinitely and stripped them of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. Since then, the two women have appeared at multiple red carpet premieres, and they also walked at New York Fashion Week, among other highlights.
