Mercedes Varnado (Mercedes Mone) Cast In ‘The Collective’

Mercedes Varnado (Mercedes Mone, formerly known as Sasha Banks) is gaining another Hollywood credit, as Deadline is reporting that she’s been past in the upcoming film The Collective.

Varnado will join a cast that includes Lucas Till, Ruby Rose, Tyrese Gibson, Paul Ben-Victory, and Don Johnson. The film recently wrapped production, follows a group of righteous assassins known as “The Collective” that take aim at a human trafficking ring run by a group of sophisticated billionaires.

According to the report, Varnado will play the role of Nikita, “a blade-wielding company pit-bull and chief of security.” For the actress, this is yet another big role in her burgening Hollywood career, as the star has recently appeared in 2020’s Star Wars series The Mandalorian on Disney+.

During her time with WWE, Banks was a Grand Slam Champion, as she held the RAW Women’s Championship (five times), the SmackDown Women’s Championship (once), and the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship (three times). Banks and her tag team partner Naomi walked out of the May 16 episode of WWE RAW, and they were suspended indefinitely. In December, multiple outlets reported that Varnado had reached an agreement with NJPW.
