Samoa Joe Wins TNT Title, Wardlow Returns On 2/1 AEW Dynamite

The King of Television continued his reign on Wednesday, as Samoa Joe took down Darby Allin to reclaim the TNT Championship in a brutal No Holds Barred Match.

The main event of tonight’s AEW Dynamite saw both Joe and Allin go all out, with the bout living up to its “No Holds Barred” moniker. From the very start, things got chaotic, as Allin came down into the ring in a jacket studded with thumbtacks, which he immediately used against Joe.

As things carried on, the two continued to tear apart both each other and the ring, which eventually had the cover ripped off during their back and forth. In the end, though, it was Joe who would come away with a win after Allin gouged at his eyes and hit him with a chair. As Allin was going for the Coffin Drop, Joe pushed the referee into the ropes to block it, and then hit a Muscle Buster onto the exposed wooden boards of the ring for the pin and win.

After the bell, former TNT Champion Wardlow returned and took the fight to Joe. Officials separated them, but it’s clear that Wardlow remains determined to win the title again.

Wardlow had been sidelined since he lost to Joe on the December 28 episode of AEW Dynamite.

Joe’s win marked the beginning of his second TNT Championship reign. He won the gold in at AEW Full Gear 2022 by defeating  Powerhouse Hobbs and Wardlow. Allin dethroned Joe on the January 4 episode of AEW Dynamite and went on to retain the title against Mike Bennett, Juice Robinson, KUSHIDA, and Buddy Matthews.
