Report: JBL Isn’t Scheduled To Appear On Weekly WWE Programming Moving Forward

It appears the latest Baron Corbin experiment has come to an end, and that includes the weekly appearances from JBL as well.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, John Bradshaw Layfield isn’t scheduled to appear regularly anymore on WWE programming going forward.

JBL returned to weekly WWE programming on the October 17 episode of Monday Night RAW when he revealed that he would be managing the “modern day wrestling god” Baron Corbin.

Corbin was previously part of the SmackDown roster and was last seen on WWE programming back on an episode of SmackDown in August when he lost to Shinsuke Nakamura. Following the match, he was invited by JBL to get into his limo and disappeared from WWE television for almost two months.

Baron Corbin proceeded to win his next five matches on WWE RAW, picking up victories over names like Dolph Ziggler and Johnny Gargano. Still, the character didn’t appear to be connecting with the WWE Universe.

Since his victory over Akira Tozawa on the November 14 episode of WWE RAW, Corbin has gone on a downward spiral. He has lost every match he’s been involved in for the last three months leading to JBL dumping him earlier this week on RAW.

While it’s unknown what’s next for Corbin, it appears JBL’s time as a regularly occurring on-screen character on WWE programming has come to an end.
