WWE Intercontinental Title Match, Ronda Rousey, And More Set For 2/17 WWE SmackDown

The go-home show for WWE Elimination Chamber will be a star-studded show.

As confirmed during the February 10 episode of WWE SmackDown , Gunther will defend the WWE Intercontinental Championship next Friday, the night before WWE Elimination Chamber. The February 10 episode was headlined by a Fatal Four-Way match where Santos Escobar, Rey Mysterio, Madcap Moss, and Karrion Kross battled it out for a shot at Gunther’s title. In the end, Moss won the hard-fought bout by pinning Mysterio, so he will challenge for the Intercontinental Championship next week in Montreal.

Plus, Ronda Rousey will compete for the first time since December. Rousey returned to the blue brand on Friday night and reunited with Shayna Baszler. The duo attacked Natalya and left Shotzi lying when she tried to make the save. On the February 17 episode, Rousey and Baszler will face Natalya and Baszler in a tag team bout. Prior to her return, Rousey had been absent since the December 30 episode of WWE SmackDown, where she lost the SmackDown Women’s Championship to Charlotte Flair.

Elsewhere on the show, Drew McIntyre and Sheamus will battle the Viking Raiders (Erik and Ivar). The two teams have been feuding in recent weeks. Erik and Ivar attacked the former world champions and prompted them to withdraw from the SmackDown Tag Team Championship Contender’s Tournament. The two teams have continued to clash, and they will finally meet in the ring on Friday night.
