Powerhouse Hobbs Wins Face of The Revolution Ladder Match On 3/1 AEW Dynamite

Powerhouse Hobbs has won the Face of the Revolution Ladder Match.

On the March 1 episode of AEW Dynamite, Hobbs faced Komander, AR Fox, Konosuke Takeshita, Ortiz, Eddie Kingston, Sammy Guevara, and Action Andretti in the ladder match. The winner of the match would earn a shot at the TNT Championship, and in the end, Hobbs emerged victorious. He will challenge for the title on the March 8 episode of AEW Dynamite; Samoa Joe will defend the TNT Championship against Wardlow at AEW Revolution.

Here’s how the match broke down, courtesy of our play-by-play coverage:

Ortiz takes the fight to Kingston as the match quickly breaks down into chaos. Andretti dives onto Guevara, and Komander dives onto Fox. Fox slams Komander to the mat. Kingston and Ortiz brawl up the ramp. Andretti dropkicks a ladder into Guevara. Komander takes Andretti down with a dropkick. Hobbs trucks over Komander. He takes control and slams Komander onto a ladder. Hobbs and Takeshita square off and trade blows. Fox takes out a few of his opponents with a springboard dive. Komander walks the ropes and dives onto everyone. Guevara gains the upper hand after a brief clash with Andretti. Takeshita drops Komander with a stiff shot. Fox hits Hobbs with a chair, and the powerhouse slams him onto a ladder.

Guevara and Andretti are both down after a Falcon Arrow. Komander hits a shooting Star Press onto Fox. Takeshita hits Komander with a Blue Thunder Bomb off a ladder. Daniel Garcia runs in and tips over the ladder while Andretti and Takeshita are on the ladder. He attacks Andretti. The commentary team notes that Kingston and Ortiz had to be separated as they brawled in the back. Guevara stands on top of a ladder and hits a Swanton Bomb on Andretti through a ladder. Takeshita takes control and climbs a ladder, but Hobbs knocks him down. Hobbs unhooks the ring to win the match.

Winner: Powerhouse Hobbs

Hobbs starts to confront TNT Champion Samoa Joe, who was on commentary for the match. Wardlow, Joe’s challenger at AEW Revolution comes out, and Joe escapes as Wardlow attacks the security guards.

The match marked the AEW debut of Komander, a standout on the independent scene who has competed for GCW and AAA, among other promotions, in recent months.
