Mercedes Moné Says She’s Definitely Moving Full-Time To Japan

Mercedes Moné says she’s moving to Japan.

The former Sasha Banks started a new chapter of her career when she left WWE at the end of 2022 and made her NJPW debut at Wrestle Kingdom 17 on January 4. She defeated KAIRI to win the IWGP Women’s Championship at NJPW Battle in the Valley, and she defended the gold at NJPW Sakura Genesis.

On her newest Instagram stories, Moné stated that she’s “definitely moving full-time to Japan”. She also noted that she intends to learn the Japanese language, as she shared a picture outside of a Japanese language school.

At STARDOM All Star Grand Queendom on April 23, Mayu Iwatani will challenge Moné for her title.

IMPACT Knockouts World Champion Deonna Purrazzo recently expressed her interest in a match with Moné. Check out her comments here.

According to a new report, Moné is negotiating a contract extension with NJPW; the Iwatani match is set to be the last one on her current deal. More information is available here.

WrestleZone will provide more information about Moné’s contract status as it becomes available.
