Report: Details On Meeting Between CM Punk And Chris Jericho

CM Punk‘s potential return to AEW looms large, and the former AEW World Champion reportedly met with Chris Jericho.

As previously reported, AEW is planning for Punk’s return in June alongside the launch of a new Saturday show. One obstacle to Punk’s return could be Jericho, given their past issues.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that Punk and Jericho were set to speak with each other, and the meeting occurred in the last week. Per sources familiar with the matter, the meeting was relatively uneventful, especially when considering their past issues.

Sapp wrote that Jericho approached Punk when the latter first joined AEW to make it clear that “bygones were bygones”, and Punk was receptive, barring any cause for future issues. Previous reports noted that Jericho yelled at Punk after the infamous brawl following AEW All Out 2022, and Punk recently called him a stooge in a since-deleted Instagram post.

In the report, Sapp also cited sources who noted that it seemed like Punk and Jericho could work together without any problems going forward, though they also acknowledged Punk’s behavior and Jericho’s past examples of welcoming confrontation in certain situations.

Punk also sparked controversy when he by making an appearance backstage at the April 24 taping of WWE RAW. More information is available here.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
