AEW Rampage Results (5/5/23): The Firm Deletion, Lucha Bros, And More

All Elite Wrestling presented the newest episode of AEW Rampage at a special early time time on May 5.

The show featured The Firm Deletion match. Plus, the Lucha Brothers and other stars competed.

The results are as follows:

The Lucha Brothers (Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix) & El Hijo del Vikingo (with Alex Abrahantes) vs. Powerhouse Hobbs, QT Marshall, and Aaron Solo

Vikingo and Marshall start the bout. The AAA star showcases his impressive athleticism. Fenix tags in and squares off with Aaron Solo. Fenix blasts Solo with a kick. Hobbs and Penta tag in. Penta goes for a piledriver, but Hobbs counters. Penta kicks him, but the former TNT Champion floors him. Hobbs drills Fenix with a shot in mid-air and slams Vikingo. He floors Penta with a suplex. Marshall tags in and continues the action. He slams Penta head-first into the ring post. Marshall and his teammates isolate Penta and keep him grounded. Penta rallies with two slingblades, Fenix blasts Hobbs with a kick. Vikingo sends Marshall to the outside with a hurricanrana. The Lucha Brothers and Vikingo dive onto their opponents at ringside.

Vikingo hits a shooting star press on Solo. Penta drops Marshall with a destroyer. Fenix nails Hobbs with a kick and drops him with a cutter. Marshall drills Vikingo with a right hand, but Vikingo takes him down with a destroyer on the apron. He dumps Solo with a German suplex. Hobbs goes to slam Abrahantes at ringside and gouges his eyes. The Lucha Brothers pin Solow with the Fear Factor.

Winners: The Lucha Brothers (Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix)

Backstage footage shows AEW World Champion MJF throwing equipment following the end of the May 3 episode of AEW Rampage.

Backstage, Lexy Nair is outside of Chris Jericho’s locker room. Jericho comes out and apologizes for not being able to perform his commentary duties due to Adam Cole’s attack. He says he’ll need assurances that Adam Cole won’t be able to be in the same building as him, and he’ll have more information on AEW Dynamite.

Jade Cargill vs. Gia Scott

The commentary team notes that Taya Valkyrie has been suspended due to her actions following her previous match against Cargill. Jade overpowers Scott and rocks her with a kick. Cargill hits the Jaded for the win.

Winner: Jade Cargill

Backstage, Mark Briscoe is approached by Jeff Jarrett, Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt, and Satnam Singh, who say they had a blast at the Briscoe family farm. Briscoe says he’s never known FTR to back down from a challenge. Jay Lethal encourages Mark to get FTR to do the right thing. Lethal guarantees that he and Jeff Jarrett will win the AEW World Tag Team Championship at AEW Double or Nothing.

Mark Briscoe vs. Preston Vance (with Jose the Assistant)

Mark Briscoe takes an early advantage and hits a blockbuster off the apron. Vance overpowers Mark and slams him into the barricade. Back in the ring, Vance controls the match. He dumps Briscoe with a fallaway slam. Vance continues to ground Briscoe. Mark rallies and chops Vance. Vance locks in a Full Nelson, but Mark escapes. Mark hits a German suplex, but Vance plants him with one of his own. The two competitors trade blows. Mark slams Vance face-first into the canvas. Vance counters the Jay Driller. Vance goes for a chair, but he thinks better of it. A Spear earns Vance a two count. Jose distracts the referee, and Vance hits Mark below the belt.

Mark vaults off a chair and lands on Vance. Mark rocks Jose when he goes to interfere. Briscoe hits a big boot and gets the win with the Jay Driller.

Winner: Mark Briscoe

In an interview, Dustin Rhodes looks forward to the May 17 episode of AEW Dynamite because it’s in his backward. Brian Cage attacks Rhodes, and Swerve Strickland laughs at him. Strickland tells Rhodes he’ll see him in two weeks. Keith Lee shows up and makes the save.

The Firm Deletion Match: Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, HOOK, and Isiah Kassidy vs. The Firm (Ethan Page, Lee Moriarty, Big Bill, and Stokely Hathaway)

Ethan Page and The Firm arrive at The Hardy Compound. Page smashes the Hardys’ mailbox. A holographic Matt Hardy sends a spooky message to the group. Matt Hardy launches some fireworks, and the fight is underway. Kassidy and Jeff Hardy double-team Big Bill as Matt Hardy and Page go back and forth, Jeff slams Big Bill into a tree, but Bill returns the favor. Bill rocks Hardy with a kick and slams Kassidy into a tree. He chokeslams Kassidy onto the ground. Matt suplexes Page on the ground. Page smashes a stick over Matt’s back. Jeff chokes Big Bill out with a stick. Stokely Hathaway is off by himself, and he runs into King Maxel and Wolfie try to run him over with an ATV.

The match winds up in some kind of warehouse/garage that has a ring in it. Hathaway sneaks up on HOOK and gets suplexed. Matt and Page battle in a ring, and Hardy gets slammed through a table. Page controls the action, but Matt rallies and slams Page for a two count. Big Bill attacks Matt with a chair. Hathaway is in the house, but Gothic Baby shows up. Reby Hardy appears, and Senior Benjamin shows up and uses a stunner on Hathaway. The kids attack Hathaway, and the camera pans away. Page dumps gas on the Hardys, and Bill goes to light them off.

Kassidy (who is referred to as Brother Zay) dives off a building onto Matt, Jeff, Bill, and Ethan. Reby hits Hathaway with a Twist of Fate, and Maxel hits a Swanton Bomb. Caprice Coleman appears as a referee. Kassidy hits Bill with a chair. HOOK slams Moriarty through a table. Kassidy sends Bill through another table. Page is left by himself, and Team Hardy gangs up on him. HOOK suplexes him. Matt hits Page with the Twist of Fate. Jeff hits the Swanton Bomb, and Matt pins Page.

Winners: The Firm Deletion Match: Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, HOOK, and Isiah Kassidy

Jeff Hardy leaves by himself after the match. Jeff makes a symbol on the ground and lights it on fire. Hardy stands with his teammates as the Hardy symbol ignites, and the show comes to a close.
