Ronda Rousey And Shayna Baszler Win WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles On 5/29 WWE RAW

New WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions were crowned on the May 29 episode of WWE RAW.

In the wake of Liv Morgan’s shoulder injury that she suffered on the May 12 WWE SmackDown, the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship was declared vacant on May 19. As a result, Raquel Rodriguez formed a new tag team with Shotzi to take on Damage CTRL, Sonya Deville & Chelsea Green, and Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler to crown new champions on Memorial Day.

After not being cleared to compete since the end of February, Rousey returned to action and was selling her arm throughout. Any remnants of an injury proved to not be a factor, though, as “The Baddest Woman on the Planet” was able to make Shotzi tap out to the arm bar to win the gold.

This is the first Women’s Tag Team Championship reign for Rousey, while it is Baszler’s third. It also marked Rousey’s first match on RAW since April 2019.
