Several matches have been announced for the first week of WWE NXT Gold Rush.
As previously noted, the June 20 episode will be headlined by Bron Breakker challenging Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. The announcement came after Breakker issued the challenge on June 6, and Rollins responded via a video message on June 13.
Plus, Wes Lee defend his NXT North American Championship against his ally Tyler Bate, and Mustafa Ali will serve as the special guest referee.
Additionally, Malik Blade beat Edris Enofe in a singles match, Booker T announced that Enofe and Blade will face Hank Walker & Tank Ledger and Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen in a triple threat tag team match. The winners will earn an NXT Tag Team Championship match against Gallus on the June 27 episode.
It has also been confirmed that Dana Brooke will take on Cora Jade in a singles match. Brooke returned to NXT on June 6 and eliminated Jade from a number one contender’s battle royal that night. The two met again in a backstage segment on June 13, where Jade slapped Brooke. Dana then interfered in Jade’s match against Thea Hail and cost her the win.
Below is the updated lineup for June 20:
- WWE World Heavyweight Championship: Seth Rollins (c) vs. Bron Breakker
- NXT North American Championship: Wes Lee (c) vs. Tyler Bate (with Mustafa Ali as referee)
- #1 Contender’s Match: Malik Blade & Edris Enofe vs. Hank Walker & Tank Ledger vs. Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen
