Kota Ibushi Says He’s Back At Full Strength, Comments On AEW Debut Announcement

Kota Ibushi is ready to change the world again.

Ibushi, a former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion, left New Japan Pro-Wrestling after his contract expired at the end of January. Many fans expected him to come to AEW and reunite with Kenny Omega, but several months passed without Ibushi making his debut for the company.

On the July 12 episode of AEW Dynamite, AEW confirmed that Ibushi will join forces with The Elite for the Blood & Guts Match on the July 19 episode. In a tweet after the show, Ibushi commented on the news by stating that he was sorry he’s late, but he’d be there next week.

Ibushi also noted that he was back at full strength, and he asked The Elite if they were ready to change the world together.

Ibushi previously injured his shoulder following his return to the ring in March after he had been sidelined since October 2021.
