The Iron Sheik Cause Of Death Revealed

The Iron Sheik passed away on June 7 at 81 years old. Now, official records have revealed the pro wrestling legend’s cause of death.

According to his death certificate, obtained by TMZ, The Iron Sheik died of cardiac arrest. The manner of his death was ruled to be of natural causes. The document noted that Sheik (Hossein Khosrow Ali Vaziri) suffered from congestive heart failure and hypertension prior to his death.

The Iron Sheik is a former WWF Champion. He is still the only Iranian champion in WWE history. Hulk Hogan beat him for the title, a victory that many people credit as the start of the “Hulkamania” phenomenon. He also won the WWF Tag Team Champion with Nikolai Volkoff at WrestleMania on March 31, 1985.

Sheik was inducted into the WWF Hall Of Fame in 2005. In recent years, he remained a fixture in pro wrestling circles due to his hilarious social media account.
