NWA’s Kamille Announces She’s Playing June Byers In ‘Queen Of The Ring’ Movie

Kamille carries The Burke, and now she’ll be in a movie about Mildred Burke.

The Burke is the nickname of the NWA World Women’s Championship in honor of Burke’s remarkable contributions to the wrestling business. Kamille won the title at NWA When Our Shadows Fall 2021.

In a tweet, NWA World Women’s Champion Kamille announced that she wrapped filming for Queen of the Ring. She noted that she plays June Byers in the film, which is about Mildred Burke. Burke held the Women’s World Championship for 16 years, and she later trained many wrestlers.

Per IMDB, Queen of the Ring is the biopic of Mildred Burke, a legendary female wrestler who was a pioneer for women’s wrestling. The film is directed by Ash Avildsen, who wrote the script with Jeff Leen. The cast includes Deborah Ann Woll and Emily Bett Rickards, among others. Toni Storm, Trinity Fatu, and other wrestlers are also part of the cast. In the lineup, Jim Cornette is listed as the NWA Commissioner.

Kamille’s Next Major Match

Kamille will defend the NWA World Women’s Championship against Natalia Markova on the first night of NWA 75. She previously defeated Markova to retain the title at NWA Crockett Cup in June.

In May, Kamille surpassed 700 days as NWA World Women’s Champion. As her impressive reign continues, she keeps making history with each passing day.
