Eric Young is excited to tell the next chapter of his story in IMPACT Wrestling.
IMPACT Wrestling’s Eric Young was a recent guest on the Battleground Podcast. When asked what’s next for him following his recent return at Slammiversary, Young said working creatively on storylines is his wrestling drug.
“Yeah, I mean, right now we’re kind of working creatively of what that’s going to be. And I can tell you for me, that’s the drug. The wrestling drug in performing is definitely part of the drug,” Eric Young said. “But the creative process is for me what I’ve been addicted to from the get-go and the storytelling side of it. And with IMPACT, I’m very involved in that, which I’ve earned, but it’s not like that in other places. I think I’ve earned that spot by deciding a lot of things that turned out very well. And this will be no different.
Eric Thompson is one of IMPACT’s most unsung heroes
“It’s another element and another story and another layer to tell, and the direction we’re heading is super exciting. And how we get there and how we tell that story. There’s tons of ideas, and I was just talking to Eric Thompson, who’s the Head of Production; I guess it was three days ago now. I was gonna say yesterday, but I mean, I don’t know. I’m living in the fishbowl. We were talking, and I kind of pitched him this idea of how we tell part of that story visually. And this is a guy that I am diabolically loyal to. And he’s the same to me.
“We’ve been very good friends for 15, 20 years, and a guy that, in my opinion, is one of IMPACT’s most unsung heroes. The stuff that you’re seeing in the creative vignettes, the jailhouse, and then the interrogation room VBD things like 80% of that’s him. He’s just an absolute wizard when it comes to that stuff. And I kind of cooked up this idea of how we tell that story, and he loved it, and I can see his gears running, and then I can just pull my hands back and let him do his thing. It’s gonna be cool, man. I’m really excited to sink my teeth into that.”
