Rob Van Dam Implies He Had WWE’s Permission For AEW Appearances

Rob Van Dam shocked wrestling audiences when he made his debut for All Elite Wrestling on the August 2 episode of AEW Dynamite. He then made competed in his first match for AEW on the August 9 episode, where he lost to Jack Perry. According to the legend, WWE may have known about it beforehand.

Taking to Twitter, Rob Van Dam addressed fans who claimed that he had done WWE wrong by appearing on AEW programming. The former WWE Champion then implied that he had permission to do so. He wrote that he wondered if the fans would “eat sh*t” if he revealed that he had permission to work with AEW.

Rob Van Dam didn’t go into any extra explanation for what he meant. Instead, he wrote that he would be keeping it to himself for now.

“Some fans are saying I did WWE wrong by appearing on AEW,” RVD wrote. “I wonder if they would all eat shit f I revealed that I had permission to do it? Or would they just move on to puke out the next meaningless bullshit that comes out of their mouths?

Yeah, I figured. I’ll keep it to my self for now.

Will RVD Return?

Van Dam appeared at the August 9 episode of AEW Dynamite, where he challenged FTW Champion Jack Perry to a match for his title. Van Dam lost the bout, but rumors continue to float that Van Dam will appear again at the company’s All In pay-per-view.

Prior to his various appearances at AEW, the WWE Hall of Famer has not wrestled on television in the United States since he left IMPACT Wrestling in 2020. He has continued to compete for various promotions on a semi-regular basis.

Van Dam is a former WWE Champion and a former TNA World Heavyweight Champion, among many other accolades.
