WWE Breaks Gate Record With WrestleMania 40, Sells 90,000 Tickets In One Day

WWE WrestleMania 40 is setting records and the two-day event is still months away.

On Monday, WWE announced WrestleMania 40 broke the company’s all-time gate record in one day. Tickets for the event went on sale Friday, and the company sold 90,000 tickets. Total sales for the event surpassed the previous total gross record of $21.6 million set by WrestleMania 39 in Los Angeles.

Limited tickets for WM40 are still available via Ticketmaster. Limited exclusive ticket packages are available for WrestleMania 40 are also available via On Location. To date, On Location has sold more fan experience packages for WM40 than last year, and it also broke the all-time revenue record for a single WWE event in this area.

WrestleMania 40 will take place at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on Saturday, April 6 and Sunday, April 7. WWE has not announced any matches for the event yet.

The WM40 record is the latest box office win for WWE. The company also set a new highest-gross record ($8.5 million) for WWE SummerSlam at Ford Field in Detroit in August.

It seems as if the Alpha Academy is done with the Viking Raiders for now. Chad Gable told WrestleZone he still had an idea for a match that would be fun to see Erik and Ivar in.
