CM Punk And Jack Perry: The Very Latest On Backstage Incident At AEW All In

Yet another update provides more information about the reported incident involving CM Punk and Jack Perry backstage at AEW All In.

On August 27, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported that there was a backstage confrontation between Punk and Perry at the pay-per-view. Multiple reports have crafted a complex picture of what happened, as some sources have noted that Punk started the confrontation, while others have pointed to Perry.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that, while Punk’s side is clear, the other side is coming together. Per one source, “with 100 percent certainty, Perry did not throw the first punch.” This source noted that Punk shoved Perry and put him in a choke. One source noted that Samoa Joe tried to play peacemaker and prevent others from getting others involved.

Sapp wrote that multiple sources noted that Punk questioned Perry as to whether they had a problem, and, as reported by PWTorch, Perry referenced the past report about the fake glass story. Perry reportedly told some people he planned to say something during his match at AEW All In.

CM Punk Reportedly Said He ‘Hates This Place’

The report cites sources close to CM Punk, who said that there wasn’t much communication between the “real” world champion and Tony Khan following the incident. Per Sapp, Punk even told people he “hates this place” due to the recurring issues in AEW. However, plenty of people in AEW have said that he’s “plenty responsible”‘” for them.

Sapp wrote that neither Punk or Perry attended the AEW All In after party, and Punk left London on Monday. Sapp noted that, as Haus of Wrestling reported, they were told to leave London at different times to make things easier.

In his report, Sapp also confirmed PWTorch’s update, which noted that the production team was informed of a potential match order switch due to the incident. Sapp also noted that there are rumors of a suspension, but they have not been confirmed.

It’s important to note that these situations come with inconsistent accounts.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
