Sunday night on AEW All Out, Kris Statlander defended her TBS Championship against Ruby Soho. During the match, the TBS Champion paid homage to popular Hollywood star Ben Stiller and his classic film Zoolander.
Statlander’s wrestling gear was inspired by one of Stiller’s most successful films, Zoolander. The film was released back in 2001. It is a comical film that revolves around a fashion model Derek Zoolander. A sequel to the picture was also released fifteen years later.

Kris Statlander made a surprise return to in-ring action at the Double or Nothing Pay-per-view earlier this year. She showed up and ended Jade Cargill’s undefeated streak. She also captured the TBS Championship in the process. This was her first-ever title in All Elite Wrestling.
Since capturing the title, she has defended the title on seven different occasions. Last night was her eighth title defense. It was also the first time she put her championship on the line on Pay-per-view.
The rivalry between Statlander and her opponent Ruby Soho has been heating up for several months. The former WWE Superstar, despite being in the business for over a decade had never captured a major singles title in the biggest wrestling promotions.
Thus, she laid out the challenge to Kris Statlander for the TBS Title. Another reason for the Outcast member to challenge The Galaxy’s Greatest Alien was that whenever the two wrestled each other, be it in a singles match or a multi-person tag team match, Soho always managed to pick up the win.
Last night, Soho had some help from the new AEW Women’s Champion Saraya to help her against Statlander. It seemed like history was going to repeat itself and The Outcast was going to add another title to their collection.
While Saraya was distracting the referee, Soho looked to use the spray can. But to everyone’s surprise, Toni Storm popped out of nowhere and took the spray can from Ruby Soho. As Soho was puzzled about why her faction member took the can away, Statlander managed to capitalize and hit her signature move to pick up the win.
