Mustafa Ali will challenge for the gold at NXT No Mercy.
On the September 5 episode of WWE NXT, Mustafa Ali faced Dragon Lee in a high-stakes match. The winner of the bout would clinch a spot in the NXT North American Championship match at NXT No Mercy. NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio served as the special referee for the match. Mysterio ultimately played a key part in the outcome of the match.
Lee and Ali battled it out in a fast-paced match. In the closing moments, Dominik slow-counted a pin by Lee. Ali then rolled Lee up, and Dominik did a fast count to ensure that Mustafa would earn the win.
Dominik then raised Mustafa’s arm, but Lee attacked him to show that they were not on the right side. Ali will challenge Mysterio for the title at NXT No Mercy on September 30.
