Josh Alexander: Headlining An IMPACT PPV w/ AJ Styles Would Be A Hell Of A Dream Match

Josh Alexander says he wants to face AJ Styles in a clash between two figureheads of IMPACT Wrestling.

IMPACT Wrestling celebrated 1000 episodes of their weekly television show on September 9. At different points, Josh Alexander and AJ Styles have been the face of the company.

Speaking with Graham GSM Matthews for Daily DDT, Alexander named Kurt Angle and AJ Styles as his ultimate IMPACT dream matches.

“If I could manifest anything that is possible to happen? My number one would be Kurt Angle, but I think those days are long gone,” Josh Alexander said. “I’m going to go with, somewhere down the road in the next couple of years if it is possible, Josh Alexander headlining Bound for Glory or Slammiversary versus AJ Styles. A man synonymous with the first 10 to 15 years of IMPACT Wrestling in general.

“The two figureheads of the two different eras I think would be a hell of a matchup.”

WrestleZone has coverage of IMPACT Wrestling as it airs every Thursday.

IMPACT 1000

WrestleZone spoke with Josh Alexander and asked him to pick his favorite moments in his own IMPACT Wrestling career. Alexander was also asked to pick some great moments that he wasn’t involved in.

“The first time I saw Low Ki. The first time I saw AJ Styles and Samoa Joe, that stuff sticks out in my mind. But the one that holds true, always,” he noted, “when Kurt Angle came to the company and he had that first stand-off with Samoa Joe. I remember I was chomping at the bit as a fan, as a young pro wrestler breaking into the business.

“That headbutt and for Samoa Joe to get [busted open] the hard way and just stand up behind him. That image has left a lasting impression on me,” he added. “It was like an explosion for IMPACT Wrestling. As a fan, watching him, you knew you were seeing something special. [You knew] his company was gonna reach heights it had never reached before just on the backs of these two guys alone, let alone on the stacked roster they had.”
