Dominik Mysterio addresses Mustafa Ali‘s release.
WWE released several roster members on September 21. One of the cuts included Mustafa Ali. Ali had been advertised to challenge Dominik Mysterio for the NXT North American Championship at NXT No Mercy.
During a recent appearance on In The Kliq, Mysterio was asked to weigh in on the release of his recent rival.
“Yeah, you know, it’s a very unfortunate situation that very talented people have to go through situations like this,” Mysterio said. “But at the end of the day, it’s out of our control. We just do whatever we can to put our best foot forward. But as far as No Mercy goes, I’m just gonna have to wait and see who my opponent will be.”
Before NXT No Mercy, Dominik Mysterio defend the NXT North American title against Dragon Lee on Monday’s WWE RAW. Beyond that, though, Mysterio’s status for the upcoming premium live event is unknown.
