Cody Rhodes took a shot at The Bloodline on the September 25 episode of WWE RAW.
“The American Nightmare” opened the show on Monday and commented on Jey Uso’s move to RAW. He teased that he might have an ulterior motive for wanting Jey to be on the red brand. Cody also stated that something told him that we’re not in the third inning anymore.
The line was a clear reference to Paul Heyman’s comments at the post-show press conference after WWE SummerSlam. Following Roman Reigns’ win over Jey Uso, Heyman said that they were only in the bottom of the third inning with The Bloodline.
Cody Rhodes previously lost to Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39.
