Chris Jericho Wants To Keep Doing Cool Things That Nobody Expects Him To

Chris Jericho wants to continue to surprise wrestling fans by showing up in companies they wouldn’t expect.

All Elite Wrestling‘s Chris Jericho recently took part in the WrestleDream post-show media scrum. When asked about appearing in independent companies such as PWG, RevPro, and DDT, Jericho talked about the process that went into making that happen.

“To me, I think since AEW started, I had kind of pact with myself that I wouldn’t work anywhere other than for Vince,” Chris Jericho said. “Then when the New Japan opportunity with Kenny came up, that was a whole new world. Then when we started AEW with Tony, suddenly there’s so many cool places to go and work. I’d never been to PWG.

“I always kind of thought, ‘What is it all about?’ It was just the perfect night with Danny Garcia bringing the Jericho Appreciation Society in there. Great surprise for the fans. Attacking Ospreay in London T RevPro, great surprise for the fans. Lights go out when Takeshita’ in the ring at Korakuen Hall last week, and the Jericho video comes up; it’s a surprise for the fans.

Expect the unexpected

“I like doing cool things that keep people excited about what I’m doing and keep people entertained, and doing things that nobody else expects. I kind of really made a name for that. So I’m excited to work with DDT. Tony obviously gave me his blessing.

“I want to go back to Japan. I’m really excited to go back to Japan. My first tour I was 20 years old, 1991, so any time I get a chance to go there, especially against a talent like Konosuke Takeshita, one of our greatest wrestlers here in AEW right now. So to be on his home turf so to speak with a new company, I’m really looking forward to that.”
