Drew McIntyre Has One Final Message Ahead of His Title Match at Crown Jewel

This Saturday, Drew McIntyre has his biggest challenge yet. The Scottish Warrior will challenge Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WWE Crown Jewel.

With less than a week left for their match, the Scottish Warrior had some words for the Visionary. McIntyre mentioned that he has been waiting for this moment a long time and he will dethrone Rollins. He also said that there will be no more broken dreams.

“For years I fought and clawed my way to get it back. WWE returned to the UK once again, everything aligned. I was going to beat Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship. 60,000 people screaming me on. Only for the Bloodline to cheat and take it all away from me. Unlike everyone else, I won’t forgive the Bloodline. I can’t erase the past. At Crown Jewel, I can make it right. For Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins, this is about a title defense and a Hall of Fame career. But for me, this is everything. We both live for this. Seth is willing to break his back to keep his championship. And I’m willing to break his back to take it from him. I need this. No more Broken Dreams. 2020 Seth Rollins was my first title defense. And at Crown Jewel, I will be his last,” Drew McIntyre said.

Drew McIntyre reflects on winning the WWE Championship during the pandemic

During the same promo segment, Drew McIntyre opened up about the time he defeated Brock Lesnar to win his first WWE Title. He is still upset with the fact that he won the title when there was nobody to celebrate it with.

“One of the most memorable moments of my career happened in a time of history that nobody wants to remember. I find myself looking back and asking, ‘Is this sacrifice worth it?’ Of course! I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t angry. Before the age of 30, I’ve been named the Chosen One. Failed. Then fired. Forced to reinvent myself. And ultimately, I took my second chance. Finally, after 20 years of giving absolutely everything to this industry, I won the Royal Rumble. I had the fans behind me. There was going to be a stadium full of people screaming my name. I slayed The Beast in the main event of WrestleMania. Then, everything changed overnight. ‘WrestleMania was going to be in front of nobody. You gotta be freaking kidding me.’

“The pandemic shut the world down. And while the whole WWE carried on, I was all alone. I beat Brock Lesnar and became WWE Champion right in this very building. The biggest moment of my career, with no one there to celebrate. But still, I’ve done what I have always done, my job. Defending my title against the very best that WWE has to offer. Putting my body through absolute hell. I needed to be a champion to be proud of. When everybody finally returned, I failed. My moment passed.”

With Rollins and McIntyre set to wrestle each other, Senór Money In The Bank Damian Priest is also lurking around and is waiting for the perfect opportunity to cash in.
