Drake Bell made a surprise appearance at a Lucha Libre event in Mexico.
Bell, best known for his work on Nickelodeon‘s The Amanda Show and Drake & Josh, did ring introductions for Mexico’s International Wrestling Revolution Group promotion.
Bell did an in-ring bit where he took off his mask and pandered to the crowd before introducing the competitors in the match. As seen in video highlights, Bell was thankful for the invitation to the event and got a pretty positive response.
Bell’s appearance got many by surprise. This was not only because of his lack of association with wrestling, but also due to his low profile in recent years after he was involved in a scandal.
Drake Bell pleaded guilty to charges of “attempted endangering children and disseminating matter harmful to juveniles” in 2021. The actor was charged after he was found to have sent sexually explicit texts to a 15-year-old girl. Bell was sentenced to probation and 200 hours of community service, and cannot make contact with his victim.
Earlier this year, Bell was also the subject of headlines due to him allegedly going missing. Bell was later found and ruled safe by the Daytona Beach Police Department.
