Chris Jericho Wishes He Got One More Match With CM Punk In AEW

Chris Jericho comments on a missed opportunity.

CM Punk and Chris Jericho have shared the ring several times over the years. Their most notable matches came at WWE’s WrestleMania XXVIII and Extreme Rules in 2012. The pair also spent time together in AEW, but they never shared the ring during that time.

A fan recently said that he was sad that AEW never put on a match between the two before Punk left. It appears that Jericho feels the same way.

“I’m really sad that @AEW didn’t give me the one match i wanted,” @TheGurtMF wrote on Twitter. “I wanted to see the best in the world at what he does @IAmJericho and the best in the world @CMPunk one more time.”

“I did too…,” Chris Jericho replied.

CM Punk was fired by AEW in September for his role in the backstage fight with Jack Perry. It was recently reported that Bryan Danielson was part of a committee that made the final decision to let Punk go. (Read more about Danielson’s role here)

Punk signed with WWE and made his on-air return at Survivor Series in Chicago. He also appeared on WWE RAW the following night and declared that he was “home.”
