CM Punk Believed To Have Behavior Clause In New WWE Contract

CM Punk is back in WWE, following the controversial conclusion of his time in AEW.

AEW terminated Punk’s contract on September 2 following his involvement in a backstage incident with Jack Perry at AEW All In. This marked Punk’s second backstage confrontation in two years, as he was part of the infamous “Brawl Out” with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks in 2022. However, the beginning of his return to WWE is off to a good start, perhaps for a reason.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that CM Punk was seemingly in good spirits at the RAW taping on Monday, and he seemed happy. Sources noted that he was on his best behavior. Sapp writes that some in WWE were told by higher-ups that Punk has a behavior clause associated with his contract, but this has not been confirmed yet.

Per Sapp, the Haus of Wrestling report that Punk was looking to move past the drama with the Young Bucks was accurate, and at least according to WWE, Punk is looking to move past the situation. Overall, Sapp writes that everything he has heard about Punk’s return at this juncture has been “so far, so good.”

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
