Suzu Suzuki retained her contendership for the World Of Stardom Championship after defeating Hazuki at Stardom’s Nagoya Big Winter event.
Suzuki previously put her World Of Stardom Championship contender’s contract on the line after Hazuki challenged her for it at the Nagoya Big Winter Press Conference. The two had quite the showing at this year’s 5 Star Grand Prix where they were awarded with Best Match for the Red Stars block.
The match had high stakes as it determined who would headline the upcoming Dream Queendom event: Stardom’s biggest annual show. Suzuki and Hazuki had a strong display of respective offense throughout their match, but Suzuki brought a sequence of devastating Bridging German Suplexes to score the pinfall.
As previously reported, Maika will challenge for the vacant World Of Stardom belt after winning a one-night tournament at a recent Korakuen Hall show. Hence, the main event of Dream Queendom 2023 will now feature Maika vs. Suzu Suzuki for the World Of Stardom Championship.
Suzu and Maika’s rivalry
Maika and Suzu Suzuki have had quite a storied rivalry. The latter half of 2023 saw Stardom focus its attention on the friends-to-enemies feud between the two. Suzu and Maika met in the finals of this year’s 5 Star Grand Prix by winning their respective blocks. However, Suzu went on to win the tournament, leaving Maika as the runner-up. The two stayed civil for a brief period post-tournament, but Maika ultimately showed her bitter feelings toward losing to her friend.
They met again in the finals of this year’s Goddess Of Stardom Tag League where Maika and Megan Bayne defeated Suzu Suzuki and Mei Seira. While this got Maika some vengeance for her 5 Star loss, she still attacked Suzuki afterward showing that she still craved the World Championship gold.
Now, the former friends are set to main event the biggest show in Stardom.
