MLW Fusion Results – December 14, 2023: Rickey Shane Page Defends Against AKIRA

MLW Fusion Results – December 14, 2023

This week’s episode of MLW Fusion kicked off with a recap of last week’s MLW One-Shot premium live event.

The show goes to the World Titan Federation headquarters, where MSL is crying at his desk, saying One-Shot was a disaster and it has a negative five stars on Cagematch. Tom Lawlor gives MSL a hilariously ridiculous pep talk and reignites his fire for the World Titan Federation.

The commentary team announces that AKIRA was attacked backstage by The Calling, but he insists on competing and challenging Rickey Shane Page later tonight for the MLW National Openweight Championship.

Josh Bishop wins a multi-man battle royale

  • It came down to Josh Bishop and Matt Justice. Bishop powerbomb Justice over the top rope and through a table to pick up the win.

They tried to wheel Matt Justice out on a stretcher, but Bishop attacked him again and tipped it over.

A video package airs recapping the history between Rickey Shane Page and AKIRA.

Jacob Fatu is backstage. Fatu says Alex Hammerstone can’t just pop up and attack him at MLW Fightland after his match with Alex Kane. Fatu challenges Hammerstone to a match between the two men at MLW Holiday Rush on Christmas Eve.

Janai Kai (w/ Salina de la Renta) defeated Delmi Exo and Tiara James to retain the MLW Women’s World Featherweight Championship

  • Jania Kai hits Tiara James with a spinning heel kick to score the pinfall victory.

It’s announced that The Second Gear Crew will defend the MLW World Tag Team Titles against The Bomaye Fight Club at Holiday Rush.

The MLW Fusion in-ring return of Tony Deppen

Tony Deppen (w/ Griffin McCoy and TJ Crawford) defeated Nolo Kitano

  • Tony Deppen distracts the referee and allows him the opening to kick Nolo Kitano in the nuts before hitting him with a running knee to the back of the head to score the pinfall victory.

After the match, Deppen gets on the microphone and says he just got suspended but wishes he was suspended again because he doesn’t want to deal with the crybaby Kevin Blackwood. This brings out Blackwood, but he’s stopped by security and can’t get to the ring as Deppen continues to taunt him.

Salina de la Renta is backstage in her office with Rocky Romero and Janai Kai. Salina says it was easy for her to come in and take over Major League Wrestling. Romero says it’s very impressive. Salina says it feels like everyone has been on vacation.

One of the masks of Cesar Duran’s goons is found on Salina’s desk, and she’s less than thrilled about it. Before she can get answers as to who left it there, Ichiban arrives. Salina says Ichiban isn’t getting another title shot at Rocky Romero. But this gives her an idea, and she proposes a match between herself and Ichiban at MLW Holiday Rush. Salina says if Ichiban wins, he can have a future title shot at Romeo. Ichiban accepts, and Salina yells at him to get out of her office.

Kevin Blackwood defeated TJ Crawford (w/ Griffin McCoy and Tony Deppen)

  • Kevin Blackwood hits TJ Crawford with the top rope double stomp to score the pinfall victory.

Alex Hammerstone is backstage and basically says he accepts the challenge from Jacob Fatu for MLW Holiday Rush.

Alex Kane continues to rule over MLW Fusion

MLW World Heavyweight Champion Alex Kane is backstage with Mr. Thomas. Kane says MSL thought he had a shot with Matt Cardona to take his title from him, but he actually had no shot. Kane believes MSL is out of his mind. Mr. Thomas says he wants a tag team title Christmas bonus and 1 Called Manders cowboy hat. Kane says they have no issues with the Second Gear Crew, but they will face off for the titles at MLW Holiday Rush.

Rickey Shane Page defeated AKIRA to retain the MLW National Openweight Championship

  • Rickey Shane Page hits AKIRA with the Evenflow DDT to score the pinfall victory.
