Road Dogg: 205 Live Was A Hidden Gem, We Considered Making It The Third Hour Of Raw

Before AEW Rampage, WWE’s 205 Live was called the fastest hour of professional wrestling. It was a program that was running on the WWE Network. The show featured all the cruiserweight wrestlers and they were fighting to capture the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. Recently, WWE Hall of Famer Road Dogg Jesse James opened up about the brand.

Unfortunately, 205 Live does not exist anymore. The WWE Hall of Famer, Road Dogg shared his thoughts on the show during the recent episode of the, ‘Oh You Didn’t Know?’ Podcast. He mentioned that in the entirety of the Stamford-based promotion, there are a plethora of talents who are under 205 pounds.

“There’s so many people out there that are great that are under 200 pounds. Look at both rosters right now, [they] are just chocka block full of them. So, I think it was an opportunity to get that kind of talent, the smaller than the normal WWE talent on WWE programming, and get them under contract.” [H/T Wrestling Inc.]

The WWE Hall of Famer also discussed that there were plans for the final hour of Monday Night Raw to be solely featured of the 205 Live roster.

“We talked about all this. Do we make the third hour of Raw 205 Live? There’s a million conversations, and call it WWE Turbo or something. I don’t know what we were out to get; it was almost a hidden little gem. You had to really go in there and find 205 to watch. I think if you go back on there right now and watch it on the archives, there is great, and I mean great, wrestling matches on there,” Road Dogg Jesse James said.
