Nia Jax Reflects On Almost Wrestling Jon Moxley, Getting RKO’d By Randy Orton

Nia Jax is no stranger to mixing it up with the male Superstars of WWE inside the squared circle.

RAW Superstar Nia Jax recently spoke to Steve Fall of WrestlingNews.co. When asked about her memories of competing in the men’s Royal Rumble in 2019 and being RKO’d by Randy Orton, Jax said she’s not sure whose idea it was, but it certainly surprised her.

“I don’t know whose idea it was, and I think it was awesome because even I was surprised, and I had no idea until the doors opened at the show,” Nia Jax revealed. “And it was just an incredible moment because the guys took me under their wing.

“I didn’t even get a chance to walk through with them, but they took care of me in there. And I mean, I don’t know what care for you means being superkicked, 619’d, and RKO’d and then tossed over the top rope. But it was an incredible moment and one of the highlights of my career thus far.”

Nia Jax thinks intergender wrestling is great

When asked about intergender wrestling and the reported storyline between herself and Jon Moxley (FKA Dean Ambrose) that never got off the ground, Jax explained that their initial match never happened due to the state they were wrestling in that night.

“So actually, I think intergender wrestling is great,” Nia Jax said. “We are an entertainment business, right? Like whatever happens, whatever we could do to entertain the people and I think that would be an incredibly entertaining match, having intergender wrestling. When I got into the Rumble, you saw how crazy the crowd went and how they loved it when I got thrown out.

“But then after that, the Dean Ambrose story was funny because we were scheduled for that, but the particular state we were in wouldn’t allow it. So it wasn’t necessarily like any kind of drama behind the scenes. It was like, well, the state wouldn’t allow that match, so we couldn’t have it. And then it kind of just fell from there.”

Jax would go on to state that had they been in a different state that night, the match might have occurred.

“Maybe, I mean, Dean was an incredible talent,” Nia Jax said. “It was an honor just getting in the ring with him. Look where he’s going now. He’s off doing incredible things.”
