Decay: ‘Left Behind’ Is Perfect For Us, It’s The Common Thread No Matter What Era We’re In

Decay isn’t looking to change their entrance theme up, but they might borrow from one “era” of AFI if the opportunity came up.

WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard recently spoke with Decay’s Rosemary and Havok. The duo discussed having “Left Behind” as their entrance theme in TNA and how fitting the track was for them.

The Decay stable had Marilyn Manson’s “The Nobodies” as their theme early in their run with TNA Wrestling. However, they ultimately switched over to the current theme, which, as Rosemary pointed out, was written specifically for them.

Havok wasn’t there for the “Nobodies” run, but she happens to be a huge fan of the band AFI. Is there a song from AFI’s catalog that she could envision them using? Havok said it’s a difficult question, but ultimately narrowed it down to one potential choice.

Havok: “It’s really hard to answer that because that [current] theme is just so perfect with what we represent. It’s in the way that we move. It’s in our interactions, the energy. I’ve always been a fan of the AFI song ‘I Hope You Suffer’ because that brings a message that I love to deliver as well. I’ll just say the Decay theme is perfect for us. But if there was a song, that’d be the one.”

A common thread

It was noted how AFI has evolved over time and gone through different eras, including visually and musically. Rosemary noted how Decay has also gone through different eras, but “Left Behind” is the common bond, no matter what they look like or who is in the group.

Rosemary: “We do want to add on to that, too. Because, with a band, with music, their art and their sound, it’s always evolving and they do have different eras. You go through different looks. Decay, we’ve gone through different looks, different incarnations. If you look back over the years, we’ve never looked the same year by year. Half the time, even every six months will change up what we look like.

But that common thread, that common uniting tone, that scream that opens with the static hand going out and then the ‘Left Behind’ song, which was written specifically for us. A lot of people do miss ‘The Nobodies,’ but that wasn’t written for us. That was just something we felt fit us. ‘Left Behind’ was written for us, and it’s now this common uniting thread throughout all of the existence of Decay that no matter how we look, no matter who’s involved in the group, no matter what we’re wearing or what style we’re performing in, this is Decay. And we like that.”
