Michelle McCool Says It’d Be Fun To See A LayCool Reunion, Hated ‘Piggy James’ Angle

Michelle McCool wanted to reunite LayCool to take on The IIconics before the latter’s WWE release.

The former WWE Divas Champion initially retired from wrestling in 2011 after splitting from tag team partner Layla. The pair never wrestled against Peyton Royce and Billie Kay, who joined the WWE four years later.

McCool last wrestled at the 2023 Royal Rumble, where she appeared in the women’s Royal Rumble match for the third time in her career.

The pair previously wrestled together as LayCool, and McCool recently joined the “Six Feet Under” podcast with her husband The Undertaker to discuss a potential return.

“It’d be fun to see a LayCool reunion” The Undertaker said, to which McCool agreed, before adding.

“When the Iiconics were there, I thought that would be pretty good. They kind of acted like LayCool.”

“Right now? I don’t care who we go up against. I think a LayCool reunion would be fun, and I think we were funny.”

The ‘Piggy James’ Storyline Bothered Michelle McCool

McCool later went on to explain how she hated the “Piggy James” storyline in WWE.

The pair would bully Mickie James for her weight on camera, which made McCool feel uncomfortable being so mean on screen. Luckily, she reveals that Mickie was one of the best women to work with at that time, so it wasn’t so bad.

“We weren’t always nice. I did hate that part. That was hard for me,” McCool said.

The Undertaker then joked: “Except for the Piggy James, which she loved. She wrote that. That’s the only time she stayed up late, writing the Piggy James stuff. She didn’t even have writers! I’m totally lying! That really bothered her more than anything!”

McCool then jumped in and said: “I would go up to Mickie before almost every pre-tape and be like ‘this is what it is. I’m sorry’.”

“She was the best, storyline-wise, to work with because she didn’t complain. She got it, she knew it was for a purpose. Not everybody knew it was for a purpose.”

“There were a lot of girls who smiled in the locker room and then went and got things changed. But that was our character.”
