Drew McIntyre Has Racked Up Momentum For WrestleMania 40 By Putting In The Work

This year at WrestleMania 40, Drew McIntyre will be challenging Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. The road to McIntyre’s WrestleMania match is a rocky one. He initially wrestled Seth Rollins at the Crown Jewel Premium Live Event but failed to capture the championship. Then, the Scottish Warrior attempted to win the Royal Rumble but was unable to win that as well.

Finally, McIntyre got back to winning ways following the Rumble. He managed to win the Elimination Chamber match and punched his ticket to WrestleMania.

Recently, while speaking to Evan Mack on his Evan Mack’s World podcast, the two-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion mentioned that he did not gain any momentum because he was a popular name ten years ago like CM Punk, but rather worked hard to gain all the momentum leading up to WrestleMania.

“Everyone is entitled to their opinion. It doesn’t mean their opinion is right or wrong. But you know, I struggle to believe that Punk would be racking up the momentum. I’ve racked up based on my work rather than based on my name value. He’s CM Punk and got an incredible run with the company in the past. And people are so excited to see him back for the few weeks before he broke like glass. But you know, I’ve been putting in the work. I have been evolving the character. I feel like everything is hitting. And I’m where I need to be. Not just on television. But socially and the likes, and you can see it reflected in the numbers. And I think he would not be surprised that if something is working, whatever the plans are. Those plans can quickly change,” McIntyre said.
